You, the Image of God. Do we understand it?
Perhaps there is more to that scripture than we even know…
“You, the Image of Me” is one of my favorite poems from my book “Letters to Mankind” because it reminds me so much of how the Lord is saying, “Hey you, my creation, can’t you see how much I love you and want you to turn from your evil ways? I am your father and you were made in my image.” If you really break down the term when the Lord says that He created man in his image (Genesis 1:27 KJV), it is something amazing to think about that we probably barely understand.
Many times in the scriptures, Jesus mentions that he is one with the Father (John 10:30 KJV). Hear that, the creator of the universe is just asking us to be more like him. He is merciful, loving, kind, wise, and brave. His ways are far superior to anything the world can offer. His ways are true freedom, even when we don’t understand them at first. As you walk in the spirit and seek Jesus, you will realize He is the one to follow. He created us and knows exactly what we are going through, as well as what we need.
We were made in His image. But when we sin and do the things of this world, we become less and less like him. We become unrecognizable. As I mentioned before, seek Jesus with all of your heart, mind, and soul.
